This is a genuine Denarius from the emperor Severus Alexander who was the last Roman emperor from the Severan dynasty, ruling from 222 to 235. On the reverse it features the emperor standing left, sacrificing from a patera held in his right hand over an altar to the left, and holding a scroll in his left.
