These are fantastic examples of coins from the medieval period, minted in the 12th and 13th centuries over a 67 year period during the reigns of Henry II, Richard I, John and 30 years into the reign of Henry III until he brought in a new coinage the voided long cross penny. Short cross coins are aptly named for the short cross on the reverse. The voided cross was used as a marker to cut along to create smaller denominations as the penny was the only coin produced, in half for a Halfpenny, such as those in this listing, and into quarters for Farthings.

The photos show the back and front of each coin with a letter between them, this coin can then be selected from the drop down menu by selecting the associated letter.

These silver fraction coins measure approximately 18mm x 10mm

They have crisp details on both sides and wouldn't be far off how a medieval person would have seen their coins in their hands over 700 years ago!

Please look closely at the photos for the condition and get in touch if you have any questions, I am always happy to help.

If you like these then please check out my other listings, I have a large selection of great coins to choose from.
