This is a lovely large hammered Stuart silver shilling from the reign of James I who ruled England between 1603 to 1625, just imagine what this would have bought all those years ago. The obverse shows the crowned bust of King James I, and the legend around that translates to 'James by the Grace of God King of Great Britain, France and Ireland'. The reverse depicts a square topped, quartered shield of arms within a circle with the legend around that translates to 'What God hath joined let no man put asunder'
It is in circulated condition with almost some slight clipping and minor surface scratches, please examine the photos carefully.
