This is a nice example of a George III spade Guinea gaming token dated 1797 with some lovely crisp details. It depicts the laureate bust of King George III with the legend around the outside. The reverse depicts the coat of arms with crown on top and around the edge it says 'In memory of the good old days'.

They were often given to theatre audiences as mementoes during the Victorian era. There are numerous different dates/types/wording, some with advertising, and on the whole they were not produced to deceive the public into thinking these were real gold spade guineas or half guineas.
