This is a genuine Denarius from the emperor Elagabalus who ruled from 218 to 222 AD and minted in Rome. On the reverse it features Roma seated holding a Victory and a spear.

Obv: IMP ANTONINVS AVG
Rev: P M TR P II COS II P P

Elagabalus developed a posthumous reputation for extreme eccentricity, decadence, zealotry, and sexual promiscuity. Among writers of the early modern age, he endured one of the worst reputations among Roman emperors.

It is in incredible condition for being over 1800 years old with such crisp details and would be a fantastic addition to a numismatic collection.

Weight: 3.65g
Size: 18mm

Please look closely at the photos for the condition of the coin.
