Justinian I Byzantine coin, Authentic Roman Pentanummium 527-565AD, Early Christian

This is a very nice coin from the Byzantine empire minted by emperor Justinian I and dating from 527-565 AD. The reverse features Є meaning the value of 5 Nummi and the officina letter to right.

The eastern half of the Roman Empire survived the conditions that caused the fall of the West in the 5th century AD, and continued to exist until the fall of Constantinople to the Ottoman Empire in 1453. During most of its existence, the empire remained the most powerful economic, cultural, and military force in the Mediterranean world. The term "Byzantine Empire" was only coined following the empire's demise; its citizens referred to the polity as the "Roman Empire" and to themselves as "Romans" even though they adopted Christianity and the predominance of Greek instead of Latin.

It has some nice details, perfect to own a small piece of the eastern Roman empire in your hands and a bargain!
