Low stock: 1 left
A silver Halfcrown of king George the Third dated 1817. The obverse features the second smaller laureate bust of the king by Benedetto Pistrucci. This is identified by the distinctive shorter neck rather than the wide shoulders of the ‘Bull Head’ - also the work of Pistrucci. The date appears below. The reverse shows the shield of royal arms, representing England, Scotland and Ireland with a smaller Hanoverian shield to the centre. This is enclosed within a crowned garter motif with the motto of the Order of the Garter inscribed. The coin displays a milled edge.
